Job description:
1. Supervise and lead staff, including gas attendants and convenience store cashiers.
2. Schedule shifts and ensure adequate staffing during all operating hours, including peak periods.
3. Train new employees on fuel pump operations, POS systems, safety procedures, and customer service standards.
4. Provide friendly and efficient service to customers at the pump and in-store; handle inquiries or concerns professionally.
5. Oversee daily operations including fuel pump monitoring, opening/closing procedures, and cash handling.
6. Monitor fuel and retail inventory levels; place orders for fuel, snacks, beverages, and other merchandise as needed.
7. Ensure the gas bar, store, and surrounding areas are clean, safe, and well-maintained at all times.
8. Make sure fuel pumps and equipment are functioning properly and report any issues for maintenance.
9. Set up and manage in-store promotions, sales displays, and loyalty programs.
10. Track daily sales, fuel volume, and convenience store revenue; report trends and suggest improvements.
11. Prepare and submit reports related to sales, fuel reconciliation, inventory, and employee performance.
Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent
2. 1–2 years of retail or gas bar experience (preferred)
3. Some experience supervising staff (an asset)
4. Good customer service and communication skills
5. Able to handle cash, use POS system, and manage inventory
6. Basic computer skills (email, Excel)
7. Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
8. Physically fit to handle stock and cleaning tasks
