Job Overview
Responsibilities
· Diagnose patient illnesses and minor injuries, such as allergies and muscle strains or sprains
· Diagnose physiological disorders and injuries of patients
· Conduct thorough assessments of patients’ health and medical history to determine appropriate treatment plans.
· Treat the diseases, physiological disorders and injuries of patients
· Treat patients by administering, in chemical or herbal form, a small dosage of a remedy made from natural substances or by suggesting lifestyle changes
· Treat patients by the insertion of acupuncture needles or through stimulation technique
· Administer acupuncture treatments using sterile needles in accordance with established protocols.
· Educate patients on the benefits of acupuncture and provide guidance on complementary therapies.
· Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with medical standards.
· Advise patients on the use of herbs for the treatment of conditions
· Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
· Stay updated on advancements in acupuncture techniques and practices through continuous education.
Requirements
· Able to be potentially licensed as an Acupuncturist and Chinese Medicine Practitioner in Canada
· Strong knowledge of traditional Chinese medical terminology and patient care practices
· Experience working in a hospital or clinical environment is preferred but not mandatory
· Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients and staff
· Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team
· Commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all patients
Experience and specialization
3 years equivalent work experience in
· Acupuncture, and
· Chinese medicine, or
· Herbal medicine
