Pink Sushi & Teriyaki (706806 NB Ltd) is a Japanese restaurant loved by the local community in Moncton, New Brunswick, offering specialty sushi, rolls, and teriyaki dishes. We are seeking an experienced Sous-chef to join our team. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, enhance customer satisfaction through menu development, quality improvement, and contribute to the overall growth of our business.

Location: 720 Main St, Moncton, NB, E1C 1E3

Position: Sous-chef

Wage: $19.50 per hour

Working hours: 30-40 hours per week

Employment period: Permanent

 

Job description:

·       Supervise activities of cooks and other kitchen workers

·       Demonstrate new cooking techniques and new equipment to cooking staff

·       Preparing various types of sushi/roll dishes according to established guidelines on quality, portion size, presentation, and food safety

·       Leading menu development and innovation by suggesting new sushi dishes and flavors

·       Regularly inspect and maintain sushi knives, tools, and equipment to ensure they are in proper working condition

 

Requirement:

·       Professional or college degree in culinary is required

·       Minimum 3 year of professional experience in Asian restaurant (Especially Japanese and Korean)

·       Strong knowledge of sushi-making techniques and traditional Japanese cuisine

·       Ability to handle fresh seafood and knife skills expertise

·       Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards

·       Must speak English

·       Must be available for working in the evening and weekend
