- Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of dining halls, retail counters, and catering services at Lakehead University to ensure efficiency and service excellence.
- Oversee front-line food service staff, cooks, and servers, assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and ensuring adherence to company standards.
- Maintain quality, accuracy, and speed of service during all meal periods, ensuring consistent portion control and customer satisfaction.
- Conduct inspections to verify cleanliness, sanitation, and maintenance of kitchen, dining, and storage areas in compliance with HACCP and public health regulations.
- Develop and manage employee schedules according to business needs, ensuring adequate coverage and compliance with labour standards.
- Supervise the preparation and serving of food, ensuring proper temperature control, portioning, and presentation at all times.
- Monitor inventory levels, assist with ordering supplies, and ensure proper storage and rotation of food items following FIFO procedures.
- Train, coach, and support employees in food safety, service quality, and workplace safety protocols.
- Enforce compliance with occupational health, safety, and sanitation policies.
- Address customer feedback and complaints promptly and professionally, implementing corrective actions to improve service.
- Maintain accurate records of staff attendance, temperature logs, cleaning checklists, and incident reports to support audits and quality assurance.
Prerequisites:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
Experience & Skills: 5 years of experience in related field
Language: English
Hourly Rate: $25 per hour for 30 to 40 hours per week
Starting Date: As soon as possible
Terms of Employment: Full-time and permanent
