Position Title: FLOOR COVERING INSTALLER

We are looking for 01 Floor Covering Installer (NOC 73113).
Job Duties:
– Inspect, measure and mark surfaces to be covered
– Measure, cut and fasten underlay and underpadding
– Prepare flooring plans and scheduling
– Measure, cut and install resilient floor coverings
– Prepare and install hardwood floors
– Inspect and repair damaged floor coverings
– Conduct moisture, pH, temperature and other tests prior to flooring installations
– Estimate costs and materials
– Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications
– Prepare floors for installations
– Handle and load materials carefully.
– Specialize in installing tiles, wood, and laminate flooring, including complex patterns like herringbone.
– Communicate with customers on installation details, such as layout or work progress, when the manager is not on-site.
Work Environment
– Odours and dusty conditions.
– Commercial, residential, and various locations.
Employment Details:
– Terms of employment: Permanent, full-time.
– Start Date: As soon as possible.
– Language of work: Basic conversational English for teamwork, safety, and client communication.
– Wage: $35/hour.
– Hours: 7 hours/day, 35 hours/week.
– Location of work: Victoria, BC. No remote work available.
– Other Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.

– Certificate or training in flooring installation (e.g., laminate, vinyl, tile).
– Proficiency with tools and equipment related to flooring installation like saws, nail guns, trowels.
– Education: Completion of a general high school
– Work Experience: Minimum 2 years full-time experience installing flooring (laminate, hardwood, vinyl, tile), including complex patterns like herringbone.
